New Appointments For Sea CadetsMr. Thomas Sinclair, President of the Selkirk Branch of the Navy League of Canada; and Lieut. John W. Oliver, Commanding Officer RCSOC “Daer-wood”, announce the appointment to the instructing staff of “Daerwood” of Sub-Ldetiis. Roy Bayltss, Michael Green and Ronald Smith. Mr. Bayliss has prior service with the Royal Engineers; Mr. Green with the Merchant Marine; and Mr Smith saw service with f h e Royal Navy. It is felt that their varied backgrounds will fit in extremely well with the changes in the training schedule irought about by the integration of the armed services and from which the syllabus for the Sea Cadets is taken. These three new officers wil act as Divisional Officers, thus bringing “Daerwood” to strength in this area.Lieut. Oliver also announces semi-monthly swimming at KMCS CSuppawa” on the first and third Sundays of eachmonth. The first trip will be on October 3rd and all cadets and prospective Cadets are asked to meet at the Arena by 3:30 p.m.
