TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 1942HERE AND THERE. . . NowNAVAL NEWS -the word we” when referring tothat the Communications School has been transferred to Harvard, we can settle down to a more homogeneous existence ... it was surprising how Navy-wise the communicators thought they had become in three months . . . The September class of indoctri-nees apparently enjoyed its new weekend liberty privilege of leav-ing the environs of Ithaca . . . their Monday morning reactions were even slower than usual . . . Maybe the cessation of the morning calisthenics will make everybody happier ... at least it should prevent a lot of the sleeping in those seventh period classes . . the only trouble there is that most of the student officers will not have awakened by the time the first period rolls around . . .It certainly is great to have these new men around . . . they make the older group look good . . .we wonder if anyone pulled the joke that occurred when the September group came in . . . surely no one in this group passed along the word to the new men that the officers wearing white caps would carry their bagsfor nothing . . . Company G is ! complaining that it cannot fall asleep at night since it moved to the Baker area ... it maintains that the rushing water in Cas-* cadilla Creek was like a lullaby to them . . . Company G also says that there is nothing like moving on Saturday afternoon. . .
