While driving two men from the dental clinic back to their organization, Perry tried to avoid a deep rut in the road, however, the right wheel of his ‘jeep’ hit a one-foot ditch, skidded and overturned. He was immediately evacuated to the un hospital, but death occurred before reaching the hospital.“Your son has always been an excellent soldier. He had fought with this organization in every campaign that we had participated in, namely: Normandy,Northern France, Rhineland, Ar- andennes, and Central Europe. Dur-ing his meritorious and honorable service, he has been awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Oak Leaf (luster for the Bronze Star Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
