army air base there.Corporal Jim Callaghan arrived here on Saturday, having been given, a Disability Discharge from the Army. Corporal Callaghah has been stationed in the Aleutian Islands, and at other army points, and came here from Camp Buett-ner. X. Car.Air. and Mrs. Andrew Simonsen. and Mr. and Mrs. 'Willie Simonsenand their son Marvin ivere dinner guests at the Casper Nelson home on Wednesday evening. The Andrew Simonsen's left for their home in Arvin. Calif., on Saturday.Mr. and Mrs. William Ketchen had as_ dinner guests on Monday. Mrs. Ketchen’s brother and his wife from Ackley. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Wright, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wright of Cylinder. Frank Wrisht is also a brother of Mrs. Ketchen.Mi s.? Katv Joyce, who is em-Plcved in Cedar Rapids,week end at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Joyce. Her brother Budd Joyce, who is in the army, has been home on furlough, and she came home to see him. He will return to his camp some time this week.Miss Loretta Walsh. R.X., .spent the week end at h^er borne in Em-metsborg. She is on duty at Es-therville. taking care of Will Case. The nurse that was in charge had the misfortune of falling and breaking her arm. Miss Walsh returned to EstbervilJe on Monday morning to resume her work.Pvt. joe Callaghan left Wednesday to join a Signal Corps Unit of the Army at Camp Crowder, Mo., after spending the p?.sf 15 days on a furlough here visiting atT the home of his parents.
