An immense throng lt;if our citizens accompanied them to thedepot to M*e them start,and it was truly an affect- {x\thfeing sight to witness the final leave-taking of so many friends and relatives with the gallant men who have so patriotically ottered their ser vices to their country in this her hour of need. The men went off in good spirits, and though they may be culled upon to encounter hardships and dangers, and seal their devotion to their country with the lifeblood of many of their number, we feel aismed they will not falter in the hour of danger, nor do anything to disgrace the proud liag they bear, or sully the glorious reputation already achieved by iho troops of our glorious State. We shall feel proud to welcome them home when they return crowned w th laurels won in many a hard fight.1«111nrilt;InBSiCiSirlt;S(bkhaII♦nThe regiment was escorted to the depot by Captains Kinney, Bai lees, Tannehill.and Barion’s companies of the 44th regiment, now in camp.Three companies in this regiment were raised in Alien county—company A, Capt. Fitzim-molts, company D,Capt. Wlntaker.und. company E, Capt. Silver; two in Koseiuseo, company 1, Capt. White, and company B. Capt. Steward; j f two in Noble, company C, Capt. Braden, and company K, Capt. Vovres; one in l/agraiige, company C, Capt. Dawson ; one in DeKalb, company II, Capt. lfawley ; and one in Elkhart, company K. Capt.
