Cassidy, Dental Corps, U.S. Navy has been transferred to the Dental Dept., Naval Station, Treasure Island, San Francisco, California, from the USS Midway (CVA-41) aftermany outstanding individual .achievements during his tour of duty on this carrier.While on duty on the USSMidway, Comdr. Cassidy received many honors, citations and decorations, including a citation from the Commander of the Seventh Fleet, Vice Admiral J.L. Halloway III, U.S.N., ‘‘For outstanding performance of duty while attached to and serving in the USS Midway (CVA-41) as dental officer during combat operations. ” ••Commander Cassidy's skill and judgement contributed significantly and directly to the successful accomplishment of the ship's mission and to the United States effort in the Republic of Vietnam.”The Navy Commendation Medal from the Secretary of the Navy was also presented to Commander Cassidy “For meritorious achievement as Senior Dental Officer while attached to and serving in USS Midway (CVA-1) from 10 April 1972 to 15 January 1973 during combat operations. Cmdr. Cassidy's leadership, professionalism and devotion to duty reflected great credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.”A letter of Appreciation from R E.
