Reunion of 83d Regiment Indiana*Infantry, at Aurora Ind., Sept* 25=26, 1907.Veterans So Well Pleased With Aurora, That They Will Come Back.• The surviving members of the SlUl Regiment Indiana Infantry to the number of almost four score held in our beautiful city park 011 Wednesday and Thursday of last week whal they claim to be the most enjoyable reunion-that they have ever held. Theherewith, there were also present, more than that many “comrades in arms” from other regiments who suffered all the privations and hardships of a civil war such as has never been repeated in the history ol the world and probably never will be—weather perfect for such a meeting of left their homes-and their familiesthese revered old veterans and our city park and its handsome and commodious pavilion was equally ideal for the fulfillment of all that was necessary for such an assembly./ In addition to the members of this regiment who were present and whose names and addresses appearthat this greatest, of all mil ions might not be split, in twain but preserved, bathed in the blood of brother against brother, ami reunited, perpetuated forever for those who came after them to enjoy. Who is there among us so devoid of loyalty for his country and appreciationfor these grand veterans that be would deny them anything destined to bring them comfort and happiiieas in their declining years which are top swiftly passing away ? Would thli we could keep them with ns forever and in some appreciable way recompense them for that which they haye done for us—saved for us.mir grand and glorious nation. Nothing that they could ask for should be denied them. •'f I IK | REUNION. , -The first one to arrive was Wm,*N. Craw, Captain of Co. I, who hails from Hontell City, N. Y., and whocame here almost a week in advance of the meeting, lie was employed in the O. M. shops at Cochran when the civil war broke out and came on early in order to meet o!d friendshere in advance.Nearly every train on Wednesday morning brought in some of these veterans of the gallant 83d so that when the hour for assembly at the park arrived there was a goodly number in attendance. About fifty of them were grouped together and our artist photographer, W. B. Conaway took the picture of them which is herewith produced.k/tPhotograph By W. B.
