Promoted from captain to major in the air force medical service corps, Robert J. rrOmOlGU Renfro, son of Mr. and Mrs.-Charles D. Renfro, Wirt, receives his new insignia from Major General Joseph I. Martin, commandant, medical field service school. Major Renfro commands the 1077th hospital squadron at the school, a unit of Brooke army medical center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, which is the world’s largest military school for medical service training.An officer of the army medical service during World War II, Major Renfro participated in European campaign for two years, during which time he was awarded the French Croix de Guerre with palm. After release from active duty, he attended Oklahoma A. and M. college before re-entering military service in the air force in June, 1947.
