The Bronze Star for Heroism, the Purple Heart and other mil itary decorations have recently been awarded posthumously to Pfs. Michael F, Deeny 111., a Fairless Hills paratrooper killedin Vietnam last May.The posthumous awards werepresented by Lt. Col. George Caras, chief of supply branch at Valley Forge General Hospital, to Mrs. Patricia Deeny, his wife, at her Wistar Court Apartments in Fairless Hills.Deeny, 18, was killed in action during a bombing near DaNang. His wife accepted the Bronze Star, the National De fense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service medal, the Viet nam Campaign ribbon, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Expert Rifleman’s Badge and the Parachutist Badge.The citation for the Bronze Star in part read: “His initiative, zeal, sound judgment nnd devotion to duty have been in the highest tradition of the Unit ed States Army and reflect great credit on him and on the military service.”
