Mt. Vernon Military Band.The Mount Vernon Military Band was organized in 1893. The members are representatives of the best citizens, including merchants, clerks and mechanics, and they have made a reputation for playing standard high grade music, as well as the most brilliant and popular street marches. During the summer months they give a series of concerts, which are greatly appreciated by the citizens. This organization is without doubt the best band in Southern Illinois, and muchMT.
