Wheeler Receives HonorsJerry L. Wheeler, a resident of the Corsicana State Home from August 1965 until when he joined the Navy, Sept. 26 of this year, was recently named Honorman of Naval Company 304. Wheeler is shown receiving a certificate from Rear Admiral Tyler F. Dedman. A letter arrived at Wheeler’s former residence last week from Captain J.W. Haizlip, stating “I believe that we can be reasonably sure that this is only the first step toward much greater achievements by this young man during his Naval service. We are very pleased to have men of his potential and dedication here at Orlando.”
