OAK PARK CLUB AFFAIRS* . ■It is difficult at this time with the club flag at balf mast for the memory of one'of its members, James Eugene Hildreth, to speak of the week's functions in a happy vein. Let the simple announcement therefore suffice. The harvest party which was attended by more than 200 club members and their families, took place on Tuesday evening, many not having heard of the death of Mr. Hildreth until reaching the chib. Mr. Hildreth was one of the most popular members, having served on the entertainment committee, and as a director.The following committee was appointed by President George B. Caldwell to represent the club at the funeral: Henry \v. Austin, T. Fred Butler, Allen S. Ray, J. W. Pyne, Calvin H. Hill, Dr. W. S. Needham and Dr. Albert F. Storke.The monthly junior dance was heldFriday evening with Miss Daphne Edwards, Miss Frances Copeland, Miss Marjorie Woodcock and Miss Regiaa Crawford in charge.It was a football affair and all the college emblems from the University of Maine to Leland Stanford were seen. Among those home from college werci Mason Spalding and Ross Cotter of Illinois; Charles Spencer of Wisconsin; Pete Russell of Chicago; Walter Beachy of Illinois Preparatory; Jessie Rankin of Hillsdale; W, A. Vosburgb of Illinois; Charles Praham of Illinois; Dorothy Higgs and Ruth Wood of Chicago.The guest night program of the Oak Park club next Tuesday evening will consist of original songs and stories by Carrie Jacobs-Bond, who will give “My Old Man’9 Art Gallery ” “Kitten Songs11’ and a number of selections by special request, including “That Smith Boy and His Mother, The City Reporter, The Frog Concert,” “Just a'Weary in’ for You,” and a group of half minute songs.
