Plans as to the details of the monument, of course, are inchoate now and will depend finally, upon the amount of funds secured for the purpose. The decision in regard to the monument wa? made at a meeting of the focal chapter of Daughters last week and a committee from Sul Ross camp attended the Daughters’ meeting to offer the camp’s assistanceIt ts eipected to raise at least for the purpose, it was stated Monday. Both subscriptions will he solicited over the county and entertainments and benefits given by the local chapter toward raising that amount and already promises of liberal subscriptions have been received. While, as stated, co definite plans have been formulated, a majority of the members of the chapter desire a monument bearing an heroic-sized Confederate infantryman IIt is a fact little known that Denton county gave 1th# sold tors to the Confederate cause, practically every able-bodied man in the county at the time enlisting at one time or another during the war. And It 4a urged that this fact among others would make a monument to the Confederate dead of the county an especially fitting tribute from the present-day citizens, the Wry great majority of whom are Confederates or Confederate descendants
