Roger Miller Not Dead1 In our last issue, from reports, we ; made ao item that John F. Miller, brother of Mrs. John Chambers of licit township, had been killed in battle in France. This was a mistake. Roger Miller, aged 26 years, is the name of the brother in the Canadian army abroad, according: to MrsChambers who was in Newport lastweek visiting her fatherinlaw, M. F. Chambers and wife. She said a cablegram addressed to ^teve Miller, her father, was dispatched to Hillsdale, their home a number of years ago, stating that Roger Miller bad received four gunshot wounds and was in a serious condition.The family has not heard from Roger for five years. At that time : he was in the U. S. Navy Marine ! Corps and while in the Navy yards at ! Norfork, Va., deserted because lie j had a desperate case of homesickness i a-nd his officers refused to give him a j f urlough. When the great European | war broke out he went to Canada ; and enlisted for service at the war i officeA special from Ottawa, Ont, dated Nov. 25 says: “The name of F. J. Miller of Hillsdale, Ind., who died of wounds appears in the Canadian Overseas casualty list issued tonight.■
