It Looks Like “Some Day” at Camp LewisNearby cities also will play host to thousands of the Sammies, andSammy at Camp Lewis will have turkey Thanksgiving day. Uncle Sam has provided 60,COO pounds of it for his nephews, and the mess sergeants and companycooks.There will he no drills at the camp Thankagiving day and only the obsolutely necessary work of the camp will he carried on.The men will he permitted to eat their holiday dinners at any time they see fit and most of the companies have elected to eat at 1:30.Most companies have mess funds now' which will pay for the “extras” they plan for the meal while those that have no such funds are taking collections among themselves to purchase the edibles. VThe menu of one camiany looks something like this;Crab Salad. Oyster Soup.Roast Turkey With OysterDressing.Cranberry Sauce.Candied Sweet Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes, Squash, Celery,Mince Pie, Coffee,Fruits, Candies and Cigars.invitations have been sent by many householders, care of the Y. M. C. A. to “lonesome men” aud “men away from home.”A special Thanksgiving dinner will he served at the Y. W. C.
