Dslfrcd Allard cl Lowell, Mass.. said an apparentmalfunctioning of the fuel system caused both the plane’s engines to lose power during a flight from (loose Bay, Labrador, to Westovcr Air Force Base, Mass.Coming in for a wheels-up landing, the plane brushed some treetop before dropping to the ground mid skidding along on its belly. P ut of one wing was torn offwhen the craft hit the trees.Tie men were brought to Loring j AFB at Limestone, Maine, by helicopters dispatched trom Lor* ire. and Presque Isle AFB. The * one wa about 10 miles north of this community on the northern Maine border.
