rNaval Air Corps Now Takes 17 18 Year Olds }Requirements for enlistment in the navy V 5 aviation training program have been broad ened to include 17 and 18 year ^ old high school graduates, it was announced today by the'navy. Preston Moore, ofof naval officer procurement. ^ said that for the first time in ( several months, 18 years old youths were being considered , for training as future navy and ^ Marine corps pilots. .It is required that applicants be high school graduates or seniors in high school with a scholastic standing in the upperhalf of the males in their classand with a reasonable expecta Hon of graduating bv February15. Boys also will be considered who have already graduat ed in the top 50 per cent of their class, or who are now in col-. lege and have indicated their f ability to maintain a scholastic i standing in the upper two-thirds.Interested boys of 17 and 18 p are urged to contact the officeof officer procurement in Hous-Young men of 18 who have been processed and found qual-lfied as naval aviation cadets will be given a letter to their draft boards. Lt. Com. Moore said Thev will be inducted into the navy and enlisted as prentice seamen for training tolead to their commissioning asnavy and Marine corps fliers.
