Pennsylvanians at MonocacyFREDERICK, Md., Nov. 24.—A monument on the Monocacy battlefield, erected by the State of Pennsylvania to the memory of Its troops, the Sixty-seventh. Eighty-seventh and 138th Volunteer Infantry, which took part in that engagement, was unveiled this afternoon, Captain W. H. Lanius, of York, Pa., chairman of the Monument Commission, formally presenting it to the Commonwealth, in behalf of which It was accepted by Lieutenant Governor Murphy, of Pennsylvania, who was attended by the Governor’s military staff. An “address w.is delivered by Captain Robert T. Cornwell, of West Chester, Pa. The monument is a cylindrical shaft of blue Westerly granite, surmounted by a polished ball of red granite.
