Tonopah ManIn PhilippinesCpl, William Friel of Tonopah, former University of Nevada student, is now stationed with an army signal combat unit in the Philippines, according to word received here.Called to active duty in March, 1943, with the army enlisted reserve corps, Cpl. Friel was sent to Camp Hood, Tex. Later, while attached to an army specialized training unit, he was stationed at Pasadena junior college.While at the university, Cpl. Fried was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity and was editor of the U, of N. Sagebrush. He also was a member of Coffin and Key* and Sundowners.IN MEM GUI AM
