The American people forget easily—we tire of anything fast-we did a great individual Bond job when the going was tough—now many feel it’s all over. Regardless of the need to finish the job—to bring the rest of our boys back home—to i care for our wounded who won’t be home for a good while yet, many have forgotten the past four years, or try to thinkthey have.Menard should not forget the names of the 23 Menard County boys wno gave their lives that you and I might have this Peace that is with us now—Lest we forget, Read and* r* * ’ .• * v .*Remember—John Robert Graham, Manuel Rodgers, Raymond Chapman. Marlin Bowers, Gene Franklin Davis, A. Y. Tillman, Jr. Herbert Briley, Alf C. Bumguarderner, jesus Talavera. Frederic T. Neel, Jr, Jose Talavera, J. L. Bailey, James H. Lagow, Jr., Jose Aguirre, Henry I. Woolf, Elton Fulcher, M. J. Greenwood, Emiliano Gonzales. Guy Johnson. Eva P. Castleman,Jose P. Vilclez, Joseph Milton Mears, Herschell Griffin.Each of these gave “that last full measure of devotion.” It is for us the very least that we can do to remember them in this last, this final Bond Drive—the Victory Loan.
