10 Guardsmen Upped in Rank -ISeveral promotions were an-1 nounced by the local units of the National Guard Thursday, with two men getting commissions and eight others getting higher noncommissioned rank.Further promotions are to be ex-, pected, according to Lt. Col. Bob I ■ Dickey, as the companies climb in i strength toward the authorized number of 305 enlistees.At present there are 101 members, he adds, so that those joining now have a, good chance of advancement.The promotions were: to second j lieutenant—John F. Benfield, 710 j North Main and Harold Buerstatte,; 617 Hobson; to technical sergeant, \ Robert A. Canton; to staff ser-j geant, Bill E. Dickey.Promoted to sergeant was Glen L. Teal and to technician, grade 4, Cleland G. Sadler and Lynn R Leslie. C. Atkinson, Howard R. Cromer, and Daryle S Gordon were made technicians grade 6.
