From Owen County SailorNew York, N. Y.t Nov. 14,U. S. S. DenverThe Owen Leader: I thought 1 would write and tall you how glad I was last week when we returned from France and foundfour of your papers awaiting me. 1 sat down and read them over three or four times. We were all glad to hear from homeland I was sure glad to get the Leader from old Sweet Owen.I had a fine time on the other side. Thev sure do treat a fellow fine. I got shore leave in Brest and Havre, France. We had about an inch of snow at Brest when we left. On the way back we stopped at Halifax,Nova Scotia. 1 like it the best of any place I have been except New York and Havana, Cuba.We may be in southern waters where it is warm this winter. I may be back home Xmas; don’t know yet. Tell all the boys I wish them good luck. The army boys are missing some good times by not being in the navy.Yours,FREDERICK CUTRELL.Young Cutrell is from the Van-dalia neighborhood, and he was reared in the family of R. L-Whitaker. He was here a few months ago on a short leave.
