Clarence McGrane, War Veteran Returns to High School ClassesClarence McGrane, 20-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence McGrane of Carroll, is the first discharged veteran to return to Carroll High School to complete hishigh school education, so that he may attend college under the provisions of the G. I. Bill of Bights. He plans to enter Creighton university at Omaha as a pre-medical student. jLeaving school in 1942 in hisjunior year, McGrane joined the United States navy. Aboard the U. 8. S. Wake Island. (CVE-65) attached to the Seventh fleet, he spent some time on the islandsof Manus.
