Newiand, 24, pilot in the United States Army Air Forces in Australia, has been reported missing in action in the Pacific area sinceNovember 3.Flight Officer Newiand, well known and very popular in Hunt County, was Inducted into the armed forces on April 4, 1941 and for several months was in the Medical Corps. Later he transferred to the Air Corpa for flight training and received his wings and commission on January 4, 1943, at Williams Field, Chandler Field, Arizona. He was assigned to duty overseas last July 29.♦ *i
