Plain Dealer.Dear Sir.—Borne one has kindly sent to me a copy of your issue of Nov. 3d, with attention called to a communication ifi relation to a monument in commemoration of the fallen braves of• ^ sthe 6th Indiana, who fell at the battle of Chicamauga. Unless there have been many changes by cleaning away the timber and brush, ploughing, c.,I could definitely, locate the right of my division, as it stood in the line ofbattle on Sunday, Sept., 20th. But I would suggest that such a monument be erected somewhere in the neighborhood of where the dead once lived inpreference to the ground upon whichthey fell. In the former] case such a monument would serve to educate generations to come, in patriotism, and teach them what sacrifices are required when the liberties of the people are assailed by the adherents of the most wicked and causeless rebellion ever concocted by the malice and machinations of evil men. By all means locate it near the homes of the men rather than build it in the secluded environs of the battlefield., If, however, the latterplace in| preferred, *1 think I could at least.locate one point of my lino on the20th.'
