Wolf, 72, of 1101 Leroy Ave., Rock Falls, died at Community General Hospital lateThursday evening.Funeral services will be held at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Phillip Lamar, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Rock Fails officiating. Burial will be in the I OOF Cemetery, Rock Falls.Friends may call at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home Friday from 6:30 to 9 p.m.Ellsworth C. Wolf, son of John M. and Elizabeth Anna George W'olf, was born Jan. 14, 1901 in Sterling. He was united in marriage to the former Esther Erickson on June 3, 1923 at theRock Falls Congregational Church parsonage. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rock Falls and charter member of theRock Falls Rotary. He was a Rock Falls city alderman for many years, served on the church board and also on the Rock Falls Grade School Board. He owned and operated Wolfs Grocery for 30 years on Dixon Avenue, Rock Falls. He was employed by the Rock Falls City Electrical Department for a short time and then worked for the Edward 1). Jones Co. Investment Co. several years prior to his retirement.He is survived bv his wife Esther; one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Phyllis) Slothower of Sterling; one son, Ellsworth C. Jr., of Rock Falls, one sister, Mrs. Helen Woodring of Rock Falls two brothers, Fred C. and Cecil R. txith of Rock Falla; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents and one brother. Rush Wolf.
