Hawkins’ mess mates had prepared for his home-coming a reception and ball having been arranged at the post quarters. When permission was asked the officers (white) ot the post to carry out this program it was refused. This is but little less than an outrage. As a result the members (Afro-Americans) of the garrison have very naturally become surly, causing strained relations between commissioned (white) officers and the non-commissioned officers, Afro-Americans. -Hawkins has asked for a transfer to the Second battallion at Fort Assinihnine.uaugnStottsguest,SpringLisboineral an aclt; f rom Mahoi Erbre,Ho bin Xorminer a1ing.—( attackBriggi Christ sical ievenirIt was the ei ThursaboutMahoiers ar aftern Jonessionar churel Psycl\ Me
