Thomas J. Furginson, 83. 402 ( Haldimand Ave.. died ot complications Thursday at 12:45 a. m. at Ft. Hamilton Hospital He had been in failing health the last four ^ months.Mr. Furginson. born in Nash- j ville. Tenn., in 1869. married Margaret Permelia Sims in 1892 They had resided in Hamilton since 1922 when Mr. Furginson retired as a , steamboat pilot lt;n the Cumberland and Ohm Rivers.Mr. and Mrs. Furginson had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in March. 1952. He was a prominent member of the West Side Baptist Church and had enjoyed excellent health until four months ago. He was also a member oi the Red Men and Woodmen of the World Lodges.He leaves the widow. Mrs. Margaret Furginson; four sons, Her-shel Furginson and the Rev. Edward Furginson, both ot Orlando, j Fla., and Byron Furginson, former assistant police chief of Hamilton, and Boyd Furginson Sr., both of Hamilton; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted from the West Side Baptist Church, Saturday at 10 a. nu, with the Re\. Edward Furginson officiating, assisted by the Rev. V. B. Castleberry and the Rev Ernest A. Pet ruff, pastor. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Friends may call at the Robert F Klaus Funeral Home, F St. and Elvin Ave., Friday from 4 to 9 1 p. m.The body will lie in state in the church from 9 a. m. Saturday until the time of the services.Bearers of the pall are William Furginson, Earl Furginson, Boyd Furginson Jr., Byron Furginson ■ Jr., and Joseph Davis.
