General Robert CannonTo Visit Ogden AreaLt. Gen. Robert M. Cannon, Sixth Army commander, will spend three days in Ogden and Northern Utah next week.Most of the time will be spent In the Ogden area where the general will inspect the Utah General Depot and address a joint Rotary-Chamber of Commerce luncheon meeting.His visit here will highlight local Armistice Day celebrations.The general will arrive in Salt Lake City early next Wednesday. He will come immediately to Ogden where he will address the Rotary Club-Ogden Chamber of Commerce at noon.Wednesday evening he will return to Salt Lake City to inspect military activities in that area.Gen. Cannon will return to Ogden Thursday for a day-long inspection tour of the Utah General Depot.WILL MEET COMMITTEEHe will meet with the Ogden chapter of the Sixth Army advisory committee at noon in the UGD officers club.Thursday afternoon he will visit the Dugway Proving Grounds from which he will return to his headquarters in the Presidio of San Francisco,Rotary President George H, Horsley today asked all Rotarians and Chamber of Commerce members who wish to attend the Wednesday luncheon to call the Rotary office, EX 2-3543, for reservations beforeTuesday.Gen. Cannon is a native of Salt Lake City where he attended the University of Utah for two years before his appointment to West Point where he graduated in 1925 with a commission in the field artillery.GEN ROBERT M. CANNON Schedules Ogden VisitDuring the years before World War II, Gen. Cannon served at artillery posts in the U. S. and the Philippine Islands. Most of his World War II service was in the China-Burma-India area.Since the war he has held various staff and command posts in the U. S., Europe and the Pacific area.Gen. Cannon was named Sixth Army commander last Sept. 1.
