AUGUSTA CLUBThe Augusta club met Tuesday, November (, at the home of Mrs. \\.Swin of 914 Hayes avenue. In current topics Mrs. Blanchard surveyed the progress of the Japanese, stating that'they ranked fourth in the field of investigation. The manufacture of peari, the product of which can not be distinguished from the original, was one of their recent accomplishments.In tiie absence of Mrs. John L. Pearson, Mrs. Philip Moxom took charge of the program. She discussed the provisions of the Multilateral treaty and the reasons why i: should be signed by the United States. Thirty-five nations have already done so. There was an unanimous vote of the club to endorse the pact.The Augusta club extends to Mrs. Pearson its deep sympathy in the lossof her mother, Mrs. Rankin, who was a charter member and the author of the club’s constitution./
