Geddes of the 101st Field Hospital company In France, in which he tellshow Peter Belado, who was the first‘Millers' Falls soldier to meet deathrwas killed jn action on July 20. He states that Belado was a -first dlass automatic rifle operator. He, with another fellow, went over the,top and sighted a machine grun nest. Through marksmanship arid bravery they kill-ed-the entire machine gun crew. Then Belado* anxious tb get more Germans,got up from his crouched position and bbgan to advance when he was struck by an “88” shell.
