Somewhere in Prance,JUIbecobein;teiCfOct. 15, 1918.Dear Mother:Well as it has been a long time since 1 wiote to you, 1 will this evening drop you a few lines to let you know that 1 am- wellt^ hoping you folks ar' the same I b 1 know that 1 should write more often than 1 do, but it has bcenLt' awful unhandy for me to write lately as we have been in a long ut hard battle. 1 am in the (censored) I ^ battle Division which is noted • for being the best American K division in Fvance. but we are! done fighting for awhile as we are in rest camp now. We have captured and killed many Germans! tr this summer and expect to get a w good many more too if they doa’tjh quit soon You ask me how much if longer the war is going to last,I will tel! you the way that itj looks now, it ean’t last much longer to my notion.Albert Monson is still in thehospital and Grover Sutton I havenot heard of since last spring.
