The French farmers ar farther behind, the-.-times than this saw mill. They cut all their hay, which by the way is about the only crop grown, with an old fashioned wooden, rake and haul the stuff to their barns with an old narrow guage wagon, pulled by one ox usually. Often they use two long poles, sliding them under the small cocks of hay and one man at each end of these poles, carrying it a half mile or more to their barnes.
