Roswell-headquartered unit takes new mission Dally Record • Christopher Cunningham New Mexico Army National Guard Capt. Christopher Cunningham Record Staff Writer The history of the 1st Battalion, 200th Air Defense Artillery, the Roswell-based New Mexico Armv National «■ Guard unit which traces its roots to World War II and earlier, is ending. The unit’s mission and name are changing. The 804th Brigade Support Battalion will be a logistics unit comprising transportation and engineering companies. According to Capt. Jason Hoogerhuis, the interim administration officer for the 1-200, the switch is part of a larger transformation within the 200th Air Defense Artillery and the New Mexico Armv «► National Guard. “The ADA mission is pretty much going obsolete.” he said Thursday at the National Guard armory in Roswell.
