Theriot of Port Arthur can.He served as a Marine in World War n, the Korean War, and the Viet Nam War. p For his outstanding military service, Theriot was awarded two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, and two Presidential Unit Cita- . tions.He was injured several times during these wars, and his injuries included being bayoneted and shot in the left leg.'He was also listed as “missing in action” (MIA) during the Korean War.Jay has been married to his wife, Barbara, for the past 58 years.They were married on Aug. 10,1944, and recently celebrated their latest anniversary.Theriot served in the Marines for 28 years, 2 months, and 19 days.He retired from the Marines as a First Sergeant when he was 42 years old.He returned to the Golden Triangle and then embarked on a second careen-working for the Texas Parks and Wildlife
