2 GIs die, 2 hurt in ammo blast inside their tankPARSBERG, Germany — Two soldiers were killed and two others injured when two rounds of tank ammunition exploded inside a tank at the railroad station here late Tuesday night, a 3rd Armd Div spokesman said Wednesday.The two dead are an 18-year-old private first class and a 24-ycar-old specialist four.The four soldiers comprised a tank crew from Co A, 3rd Bn, 32na Armor, who were preparing to load their M60A3 tank aboard a rail car when the explosion occurred at approximately 11 p.m.The 3rd Armd Div unit was training at the Hobenfcls Major Training Area,The two soldiers were pronounced dead at the Hohenfels dispensary. The two injured were taken to the military hospital at Nuernberg in critical condition, the spokesman said.The cause of the accident is under investigation. Names of the victims are being withheld until their next of kin arc notified.
