CAPT. HOMER T. MERRILL. RETURNS FROM SERVICE,Capt. Homer T- Merrill,-youngest son of Mr. arid Mrs. H. E. Merrill of this - city, arrived here the first of this week, after receiving an honorable discharge from : government service.Capt. Merrill. organized Company C of the 142nd Infantry and left our city as commander of this company in September, 1917. After reaching Camp Bowie, where he remained incharge of this company , for a shorttime; he temporarily held the office of Summary Gourt officer, for Co. C. loiter he was transferred to the cavalry,'.where he remained for some time or until he was transferred to the aviation section. Here Captain Merrill received. training as a flyer. After remaining, in this service a while he was stationed in old Mexico as a government officer.Captain - Merrill says β€œhe is glad to be back into civilian life.”
