JUNE*Oak Park Real Estate Man Who Sells H i Business After Successful Careerof Twenty-five YearsvrAfter devoting twenty-five years to the handling of real estate in Oak Park and vicinity Frank H. June has sold his real estate, renting, loan and insurance business to Edward W. Cook and Ralph G. Cook, brothers. Messrs. Cook took over the operation of the office on Monday,November 1. The June firm is one ofthe oldest and best known concerns handling real estate in the western suburbs. It is a member of the Chicago real estate board and stands high in the real estate business houses not only in Oak Park but also in the city. _The business was started in October, 1890, when Mr. June opened an office in room 33, 'Metropolitan block, Chicago. In 1892 a partnership was formed between Mr. June and C. A. Smith, thefirm name being Smith June. In the fall of 1892 an Oak Park office was opened in the. frame building at 141 Lake, which was located on the site now occupied by the Knoop grocery. In 1894 Mr. June purchased, the interest from C. A. Smith and the firm name was changed to Frank H. June. In 1895 Mr. June took over the management of thereal estate and renting department of Dunlop Brothers’'bank, which was located onAhe corner of Marion and North Vulevard. This position was held until February, 1899, at which time Simpson Dunlop died, and the real estate and renting business of the bank was purchased by Mr. June from Joseph D. Dun-’o^.The business was then moved to the Flsom block, 119 Marion, corner of Williams, where the office was continued for a period of about seven years. In1905 Mr. June moved the office to the Warrington Theater building, where heis now located, in order to better lookafter the interests of Dr. C. W. Dunlop of New York city, owner of the Warrington Theater building.Many of the most prominent familiesof Oak Park have been located herethru the efforts of this office.Ralph G. Cook, one of the new pro-nrietors, who has been associated with Mr. June for the past five years as office manager, was formerly with theNorthwestern Gas Light and Coke company. Mr. Cook resides at * 440 South Maple. He is thoroly familiar with'the real estate business of Oak Park in all its branches. He is a man of fine character, has a large circle of friends in the community, and will maintain the good reputation established by the June office.His brother, Edward W. Cook, who will be associated with him, has recently come to Oak Park from the west and was formerly in business in South Haven, Mich.
