V* fM ut the battle cf Mouocacy, July fl, 1864, as Company H of the 138lli Regiment was recruited In Bucks county.The Commission appointed by the Governor to carry out the provisions of the Act of Assembly, are William H. Lanins, York, Ta , on the part of the 87th Rc K, T. CornweU.Weat Chester, on the part of the 87h Hegt.; William H. Coppleberger, on the part of ihe 138th Regt.The 138th was recruited as follows: Cos, A, U, I and K recruited in Montgomery county; B and Q in Adams county; D, K* and F in Bedford county, and Co. II in Bucks county. The original Captain of Co. H was Lazarus C. Andresa, who died November 12, 1863, of wounds received at Brandy station, Vft., on November 8, 1863. Capt. Andress was succeeded by William B. Lovett, who was promoted from 1st Lt., and who was mustered out with the company May 23, 1865.
