8A - THE STAR TIMES Wednesday,As usual, our 96/97 training year ended with our survival weekend at Steeprock Lake. It was a very enjoyable weekend with the weather cooperating as it should when on survival. The level 1 2 cadets learned basic survival skills which included building signal fires and lean-tos. The level 3 4 cadets learned more advanced skills such as map and compass and then kicked off into the bush for a night under the stars in their lean tos accompanied by the mosquitoes. Volunteers from our Parents Committee were on hand and prepared all the meals during the weekend.
