Allegheny Ave. in Reno, and Larry Rice, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Rice of 50 Adam St. in Franklin, recently finished nine weeks of basic training.In the first weeks of their naval service, they studied military subjects and lived and worked under conditions similar to those they will encounter on their first ship or at their first shore station.In making the transition from civilian life to Naval service, they received instruction under veteran Navy petty officers.
