Sgt. Frank E. Machen It Awarded Air MedalT/Sgt, Frank E. Machen, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Machen, 1432^* Third avenue SE, has been awarded the Air Medal for meritoriousacheivement while participating in heavy bombardment missions over continental Europe, according to word received by his parents.Machen, in a letter passed by the censor, said he had been shuttle bombing from England to Bus-sia via Germany and returning over Italy. He was in his last year at poe college when he left school to enlist in the air force. He had been graduated from Franklin school.
