Belzoni YouthKilled in PlaneColipnbus, Miss., Nov. 4—(/F)— The Public Relations office at the Columbus Army Flying School announced today that two flying officers from the local base were killed in a takeoff crash at the Greenville, Miss., Army Air Base Tuesday at 4:20 p.m.The victims were listed as: Second Lieut Spiva T. Carter, 22, son of Ben T. Carter, RFD 2, Belzoni, Miss.Second Lieutenant Phillip E. Thornton, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. F. Thornton, 9 Sargent street. Hanover. NH.
