Kersting, 23, was drowned in New Guinea Oct. 9, according to word receivedI from the War department by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David A. Kersting, 211 Beverly place, Dayton. Lt. Kersting served as a scout and intelligence man in the infantry for 10 months in the Pacific area.Besides his parents he, is survived by two brothers, Ens. David W. Kersting, navy pilot, who is temporarily retired from service because of the loss of a leg, and Capt. Donald A. Kersting, who was wounded in Italy May 10 and is now hospitalized at Camp Atter-bury, Ind. Ens. Kersting is now attending medical school at Marquette university.
