Limeberry In Navy On Shangri-La Was In MediterraneanUSS SHANGRI-LA (CVA-38) (FHTNC) May 19 — Photographer’s Mate Third Class David W. Limeberry, TJSN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Limeberry of 110 S. Water St., Corydon, has returned to Mayport, Fla., aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Shangri-la, after an eight month deployment to the Mediterranean.While at sea, he performs one of the widely diversified duties required of carrier men, helping to maintain the Shangri-la and its air wing at peak readiness.He has seen much of the Mediterranean and its bordering countries during the deployment. Between operations the ship visited Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, and Malta.The 23-year old carrier saw action in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was a unit of the Pacific Fleet until 1960.
