Vallehi Council SeeksInformation of LeadersThe Vallehi Girl Scout Council is attempting to find the founders of Girl Scouting in each town. The Council seeks information concerning the leader of the first troop; people after whom Girl Scout camps are named; members of fhe first troops, members of organizations sponsoring first troops, first presidents, first men in Girl Scouting, persons who applied for the fifrst Council charter, persons who were members 20, 30 and 40 years ago.Anyone who knows the names and addresses of any of those listed above is asked to contact any of the following neighborhood chairmen, Mrs. Ernest Haas (acting), Mrs. H. D.. Remple, Mrs. L. E. Bice and Mrs. C. M. Pickett.This search is being conducted upon the suggestion of the National Girl Scout Headquarters in New York which recently mailed to all councils a “Birthday Years Kit” in commemoration of the approaching 100th anniversary of Juliette Low’s birth on Oct. 31, and the 50th anniversary of Girl Scouting to be held on March 12, 1962. The program committee ofthe Vallehi Council plans to have a special “Founder’s Day Program” in October to honor early Scouts.The Vallehi Council includes Atchison, Brown, Douglas, Jefferson, and Leavenworth Counties. Towns in this area served by the council include Atchison, Baldwin, Ft.
