EhrhartFuneral services were held today for Lewis S. Ehrhart, 83, of Venus Rt 1, who died Friday evening, May 26, in his home.He was born March 23,1906, in Venus, a son ofClifton and Anna J. Beck Ehrhart.A graduate of KellettvilleHigh School, he lived nearly all his life in the Venus area, except for a few years spent in Seneca.He married the former L. Grace Whitton on Oct. 12, 1929, and she died Jan. 20, 1966.Mr. Ehrhart had worked for Mong Dairy and operated asawmill.In 1950, he built The Checkerboard Restaurant and operated it for 14 years.At that time, he became a dealer for Raleigh Products and other lines, achieving the 1966 honor as top salesman for Raleigh in Pennsylvania. He continued those dealerships until his death.Mr. Ehrhart was a member of Venus Harvest Home Association and was active in and a supporter of local baseball organizations.He belonged to the Oil City I OOF Lodge. Lodge members conducted a memorial service Monday evening in Faller Funeral Home, Fryburg.Mr. Ehrhart was also a member of Oil City Petrolia Lodge FAM, where he received a 40-year pin, Scottish Rite Council and Coudersport Consistory.He attended Fertigs Methodist Church.Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Kathleen) Ditt-man of Venus RD 1 and Mrs. Ronald (Carol) Harris of Knox; two sons, Donald L.
