Donald W. MacNamara, U. S. Marines, was killed in action July 21, 1967 at Quang Tri, Republic of Vietnam. He was a son of Mrs. Ella Carberry, formerly of Albert Lea.Pvt. Larry Allan Hugtveit, U. S. Army, died in service Nov.5, 1967, in Vietnam. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hugtveit, Brownsdale, formerly of Manchester.Sgt. Gerald Newbrough, Ninth Infantry, U. S. Army, died in December 1967 in Japan of injuries sustained in the VietnamWar. He was a son of the late Raymond Newbrough. His wife, Elaine, then lived at Wells.Sgt. David L. Parker, U. S. Army, was killed in action in Vietnam Jan. 31, 1968. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. LloydParker, Alden.Seaman Richard Duane O’-Daffer, U. S. Marines, son ofMr. and Mrs. Lemuel O’Daffer, Albert Lea, was killed in action in Vietnam, Feb. 19. 1968,Sgt, David James Ohm, U.S. Army, was killed in action in Vietnam July 20, 1968. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ohm, Alden.U. S. Army SP4 David Francis Peak, son of Mr. and Mrs. F'rancis Peak, Hollandale, was killed in service Jan. 7, 1969, in Vietnam.Cpl. Roger Carl Bangert, U. S. Marines, was killed in action in Vietnam, Jan. 22, 1968. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bangert, Albert Lea.U. S. Army SP4 Billy Dean Weitzel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Weitzel, formerly of Albert Lea, now of Great Lakes, 111., was killed in action in Vietnam, Oct. 16, 1969.U. S. Army SP4 Charles Bar-nick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barnick, Rt. 3, Albert Lea, was killed in action in Vietnam Oct. 28, 1969.U. S. Army SP4 James Nelson, was killed in action Nov. 8, 1969, in Vietnam. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester O. Nelson, 1202 Marie Ave., Albert Lea.of Mr. and Mrs. Harry T. Green, died when hostile forces struck his unit while it was in a night defensive position in Vietnam Jan. 2, 1970. He was in the Army AMER1CAL Division.Sgt. Robert D. Farnum of the U.S. Army, was killed in action Jan. 14, 1970. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Farnum, Algona, Iowa, formerly of Albert Lea.SP4 Marvin Ringeon, U. S. Army, was killed March 7, 1970, at Chu Chi, Vietnam in company operation when a booby trap exploded. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kermit O. Ringoen, Rt. 2, Glenville.Pfc. Byron A. Bangert, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bangert, Rt. 2, Albert lea, was killed in action by hostile forces in Vietnam, March 2, 1971. His widow is the former Rosemary Johnson. He had a son, Travis.The preceding list was secured from records in the Veterans’ Service Office at Freeborn County Courthouse.
