After an absence of almost two years during which he was serving Uncle Sam as a motor transport driver overseas, Gordon Grimes arrived at his Denver home Fri-L | day. No direct word had been received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Grimes, for many months, but through the Ked Cross J they learned that he had arrived/, in the States early in May. fWbile^ '(expecting him home, any day they did not know where he was located nor when he would be mustered out of the service and for this reason his arrival was a delightful surprise to them.For over a year “Dickie” was in the thick of the fighting and took part in many of the great drives. However he stated he was mighty glad to get home again and no more war for him.
