Trying Experiences ofHarrison County Soldier.(English News.)Clarence E. Klee has been visitingold friends in Johnson township. He was sent to Camp Taylor by the local lBoard of Harrison county, March 29, 1918, and landed at Brest, France, May 24th. From July 5th until August 6th he was in reserve but under shell fire.On August 7th he went over the top at 2:00 A. M. At 7:00 A. M. he received the wound from which he has not yet recovered. A ball from a machine gun entered his left lower jaw, breaking same, tore away a part of the tongue and passed out breaking the right jaw tearing away a portion of the jawbone. After receiving his wound he swam the Vesele river and was picked up on the other side. He has been operated on six times. His /jaws are fixed in aluminum or silver splints. He lfeft the hosijtal in St. Louis last week. By another operation, the removal of a portion of a rib which will be grafted into the jaw-bone to fill the vacant space caused by the bullet, he will be restored to good health except the effects of poison1 gas. Mr. Klee does not grumble or complain, but is optomistic. He says j athat the job had to be done and that j he feels good for having helped do it.e
